Formed from aged oak that once shaped the body of a well-loved bureau, the timber carries the character of its former purpose. An Avacatta quartz worktop now rests above the original oak, introducing clarity and light. Soft veining drifts across the pale surface, finished with a DuPont edging profile that nods quietly to traditional joinery. Below, an oval under-mounted basin brings calm proportion, anchoring the composition with understated balance.
Within, the drawers have been thoughtfully reconfigured for modern living, offering generous storage while preserving the integrity of the original form. The oak handles remain untouched, retaining warmth, texture and continuity.
Chrome two-hole traditional taps and a coordinating waste introduce a subtle contrast. Their cool finish settles gently against the patinated timber, creating a dialogue between eras — refined, measured, enduring.
The exterior is protected with a clear satin lacquer, chosen to shield without disguising. Variations in tone, natural grain and age-earned marks remain visible, celebrated as part of the design rather than concealed.
